Aloe Vera FAQ
What is an aloe vera?
Aloe vera is a succulent plant known for its thick, fleshy leaves that store water. It has been used for centuries for its medicinal and cosmetic properties, making it a popular choice for both indoor and outdoor gardening.
What does an aloe vera look like?
Aloe vera plants have thick, green, spiky leaves that grow in a rosette pattern. The leaves are often dotted with white spots and have serrated edges, giving the plant a distinctive and striking appearance.
How often should you water aloe vera?
Water aloe vera sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Typically, watering every 2-3 weeks is sufficient, but this can vary depending on the climate and season.
How much light does an aloe vera need?
Aloe vera thrives in bright, indirect light but can tolerate direct sunlight. It should receive at least six hours of light per day for optimal growth. Avoid prolonged exposure to intense, direct sunlight to prevent leaf damage.
How long does an aloe vera live?
With proper care, aloe vera plants can live for many years, often several decades. Regular pruning, adequate light, and appropriate watering contribute to their longevity, making them a lasting addition to your plant collection.
🪴 Locally Sourced
It's not local when garden center trucks travel 1,500-3,000 miles on average to deliver your plants from far away brokers. We aim to keep our greenhouses under 150 miles* (often much less), away from the growers which results in reduced pollution, plant waste and damages, and lower the amount of time the plant is in transit.
👩🏼🌾 Supporting local farmers
Our farmers earn double through working with us compared to when selling to traditional large box retailers! We accomplish this by sourcing locally directly from the farmers, eliminating multiple deliveries, packaging, and subscription fees.
